Would you like to keep track of the new apps in the App Catalog without having to open up the App Catalog every day? You can look through PreCentral’s own App Gallery, Preware, or the variety of other listings available on the web, but you still have to remember to look for updates each day. Luckily, Palm has also made these feeds available for anyone to add to their RSS reader of choice. There are 2 types of feeds you can add ("All Applications" vs "Recently added only") for each of the 3 catalogs they support (Official App Catalog, Web Distribution or Beta Applications). For each catalog, you should only subscribe to one of the feed types. We recommend the "recently added" feed. For more details and a listing of the specific feeds, go to this article in Palm’s Developer Center and scroll down to the section titled "The Feeds".
Please note: once an application appears in a feed, it may still take a couple hours before the application is available to download

Do you have an application that you love and want to easily share with your friends? You can always go to PreCentral’s App Catalog App Gallery and search
for the app, copy the link location and send it as an email or text message, but there has to be a faster method, right? Indeed there is! All you need to do is:
- Open up the App Catalog on your device
- Find the specific app you want to share by either searching for it from the main page, or clicking on the Shopping Bag button on the bottom right to bring up a list installed apps
- Once you have the App Description page loaded, click on the "Share" button and choose either "Email" or "Text Message"
- This will open up either an email or text message with the direct link to the app for you to send to your friends

Have you even been searching the App Catalog and wondered what was the total file size of a given apps, or when it was last updated? If you go to any app within the App Catalog, you can actually tap on the app header (that shows the app and developer names) and an information bar will appear that includes the current version #, last updated date, and the total size of the file. Simply tap on the header again to hide this information bar. And if you want that information bar to be shown by default when you view an app, there is a patch for that! Just install the Show App Details patch (available in Preware)

Want to make sure you have the latest version of your favorite applications? Instead of searching one-by-one to find updates in the App Catalog, it’s really easy to upgrade all your apps at once by following a few simple steps:
There are two ways to do it. One is to just hit the Updates app and refresh – if there are app updates, it will alert you and open up the App Catalog. Chances are, though, that you’re in the App Catalog much more often, so there’s a convenient way to do it there too.

Ever wanted to uninstall an application or remove an icon from your launcher, but can’t find the delete button? The easiest way to delete any icon on your launcher is to hold down the Option (Orange/Silver) key and tap an icon, and you will get a pop-up with an option to "Delete" or "Remove". Another option to delete an application is to pull down the Launcher Application menu (swipe down from the top left while in the launcher) and select “List All Applications.” You will be presented with a listing of all your installed applications, and all you need to do is just tap on an application to get the same pop-up with the Delete option.
NOTE: Only use the method above to delete those applications installed from the official Palm App Catalog. If you have installed any Homebrew Apps with webOS Quick Install or Preware, you should use those same methods to uninstall those Apps.

Universal search is an extremely powerful tool within webOS that allows you to access all kinds of data on your phone within a matter of seconds and from anywhere on your device. To access Universal Search, all you need to do is start typing on the keyboard while in the Launcher or while in Card View (to access card view while in an App, simply swipe up from the gesture area to minimize that app). In addition to Contact Search, webOS will also search for all of your installed applications on the phone, no matter where the icon is throughout the launcher. Continue reading after the break to learn the specifics of how to search for applications using Universal Search
