The 1.5GHz processor on-board could be the same dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip that will be powering the HP TouchPad 4G. The current version of the HP TouchPad has a dual-core processor as well but it is only clocked at 1.2GHz.

If the product labels are to be believed, then the TouchPad Go will come in 16GB and 32GB variations. There will be a WiFi model offered as well as one with support for AT&T’s HSPA+ network.

The 9.7-inch TouchPad hasn’t seen much success as evidenced by the permanent price drop that we reported on just a couple of hours ago. If the

7-inch model can improve on the build quality as well as performance then perhaps this can be a good choice in an expanding tablet market. There is still no word on the release date but it is possible it could hit shelves in a month or two. Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Naturally, the HP Veer 4G’s arrival on AT&T’s lineup manages to bump the Palm Pixi Plus as being the cutest webOS smartphone on their lineup. However, it’s rather difficult to say why it’s happening, but one web site is selling the unlocked version of the handset for a mere $79.99 – and that doesn’t require any contracts! Maybe it could be due to an abundance of stock, or simply due to the HP Veer 4G’s arrival, but it’s very difficult to not notice the new pricing.

If you’re willing to side with a last generation webOS powered smartphone, then you might as well place an order for yourself seeing that it’s not every day that you find unlocked smartphones selling under the $100 mark. Of course, you’d better make a decision really quick because this sale is available for only today.

The AT&T HP TouchPad 4G will come with 32 gigs of memory and an integrated GPS unit. It has changed slightly to a couple of grams bulkier than the original TouchPad, but except for that minor change it’s largely the same. Unfortunately, there are no details on pricing and an exact release date just yet, but HP promises to make the tablet available off contract and in time for back to school through retailers, the carrier and HP’s channels.

Fear not though, Amazon is sprinkling its dash of magic as they’ve aggressively reduced the price of the handset to a mere one penny with a contract! At that level, it’s undoubtedly easier to tolerate a little handset that packs a punch.  Both the white and black versions of the handset are priced the same with free shipping included, but it’s even better finding out that the deal is extended to existing customers with qualified upgrades.

So if you’re considering on picking up the HP Veer 4G, you might want to purchase it from Amazon seeing that you’re going to be getting some huge savings with them.

This tweet from HP promotes the pint-sized Veer

Just the other day, we reported that the HP Veer was being promoted to the kids through the use of television ads starring iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove. The ads are in rotation at Nickelodeon which explains the demographics that HP is aiming for with that commercial.

In addition to spending money on television, HP is using Twitter to promote the pint-sized smartphone. The Palo Alto based tech company is reportedly paying Twitter $120,000 a day to have #HPVeer listed on top of Twitter’s trend list. Among the other names and phrases on the Miami version of the list is Katy Perry and pancake restaurant IHOP. To make sure that there is no question on why the device is listed on top, a small yellow bar that says “Promoted” is placed right next to the listing.

When you click on the #HPVeer link, you are taken to a tweet from HP that reads, “In a world of tablets, who needs a smartphone? Small does it all at @HPVeer. Nation’s smallest 4G smartphone. hp.com/veer”. While it remains to be seen how well all this promotion produces for HP in the bottom line, you have to give them an “A” for effort.

Not only does the network have the ideal demographics to reach the kids, it also features a show called iCarly starring one Miranda Cosgrove. You might remember seeing the actress in “The School of Rock”, but she has picked up a huge fan base thanks to her show on Nick. Miss Cosgrove is the star of the new HP Veer commercial which no doubt shows one of the directions that HP wants to go with the small, webOS flavored phone. This is the second commercial for the model. As we reported, the first ad featured boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.

Just in case your kids start politely asking for demanding the phone, the HP Veer 4G (4G thanks to HSPA+ connectivity) can be purchased from AT&T for $99.99 after a signed 2-year deal.

The HP Veer might not get the stellar supporting cast for the HP TouchPad including celebrities like Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Jay-Z, but it’s nevertheless an interesting little QWERTY slider. It’s small 2.6-inch screen however is sufficient for most of the functionalities of webOS, including some sports tracking features demoed by Pacquiao. Not too shabby of a marketing campaign, and, considering webOS will be shipped along with every HP computer from next year as an alternative operating system, Palm’s software will reach a lot of potential clients. HP is still the world’s biggest computer maker, after all. The Palo Alto-based company’s newest slate is the first device to ship with a tablet edition of webOS, and it is quite the sleek experience, judging from our hands-on encounter with the HP TouchPad.

HP demonstrated some cool home automation management with the TouchPad the other day, but now we are only curious what will Lady Gaga do to the young and innocent webOS tablets and phones in her commercial, and will the directors stop just short of dressing her in them.

For the unaware or readers of the New York Daily News or New York Post, the HP Veer is a credit-card sized handset with a 2.6 inch screen and resolution of 320 X 400 pixels. Under the hood is a single core Qualcomm MSM7230 clocked at 800MHz and webOS 2.1 is installed on the device. A 5MP camera is around back and in case you were wondering about the battery in a device as small as the Veer, HP saw fit to send it to market with a 910mAh cell.

While AT&T is offering the phone for $99.99 with a signed 2-year contract, Best Buy has both the black and white versions of the phone available for the low, low price of zero as long as your John Hancock is affixed to the 2-year pact. While both colors can be ordered from Best Buy’s web site, at the stores only the white model can be taken home.

So on Monday, HP flashed the Veer 4G across the back of one of the world’s highest circulation newspapers. Tuesday saw the phone in a banner ad on top of one of the most visited web sites on the planet. Where will we see the HP Veer 4G tomorrow?
