email, email account, email favorites, tip a day
By default, webOS adds the Inbox of each email account to the "Favorites" section at the top of your main account/folder view in the Email app. However, did you realize that you are able to remove any of those inboxes, as well as add any other folder from any of your accounts? In order to do this, you just need to tap the star next to the desired folder name that you want to add or remove from your favorites.
For example, in the attached screenshot, if you wanted to remove the Yahoo Inbox from the Favorites section, you would just tap the gold star (
) on the right of Inbox row (under the Yahoo section, not in the Favorites section, as there is no star there for you to toggle) and it would turn to a gray star (
). Or, if you wanted to add the "Outbox" to your favorites, just tap on the gray star and it will turn gold and the folder will then appear in the favorites section.
The listing of the Favorites will first be sorted by the order of your email accounts (e.g. all Yahoo folders first, then all Gmail folders), then will be sorted with the Inbox first, Outbox last, and all other folders listed alphabetically.

However, you can save a step by just using the little arrows on the right or left side of the subject bar, all without having to go back to your mailbox view of your messages.

Welcome to Round Table, which is in fact not a table at all. Round Table is a continuing series on PreCentral where we pose a question to the staff and they provide their thoughts and insights. The question could be something simple like “what’s your favorite use for the Pre’s mirror?” or something a bit more complicated, like “why are you sticking with webOS (or are you)?” Or maybe we’ll just end up discussing our sandwich workflow. Today, however, we’re diving into the latest version of webOS. While few have been able to handle webOS 2.0, the veritable cornucopia of videos, screenshots, and reviews have made it easy to draw some preliminary conclusions. After the break, see what the crew has to say about HP webOS 2.0.
alert sound, email, email account, ringtones, tip a day
Just as setting a ringtone is a great way to distinguish your phone from others, you can also set a unique alert or ringtone for each of your email accounts. To do this, first open up the email app, simply swipe down from the top-left to bring up the Email Application drop-down, select "Preferences & Accounts" and then tap on the specific account (in the ACCOUNTS section) you want to update. Once inside the Account setup screen, there will be a "NEW MESSAGE" section, with a row for an "Alert" option. Tap on that row and if you select "Ringtone", a third row will appear that will you can tap to choose your ringtone (for detailed directions on this process, see our Set a Ringtone tip). delete, email, email account, email draft, email folders, sent email, tip a day
By default, whenever you send an email, a copy gets saved in your "Sent" folder. Whenever you save a draft email, that draft gets saved in your "Drafts" folder. And whenever you delete an email, that email gets moved to your trash. But what if you wanted to specify a different folder for any or all of those actions above? You actually have control over the folders that are used. From within the Email app, swipe down from the top-left corner to bring up the Email Application drop-down, select "Preferences & Accounts", and then tap on the specific email account you want to update in the "ACCOUNTS" section. If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that screen, you will see that you have an option to change these "Default Folders." Just tap the option you want to change, select the new folder from your list of folders and then back swipe out of the preferences screen. But why would you ever want to change these default folders? Contacts, Contacts App, Messaging, address, email, mailing address, phone number, sms, text message, tip a day
While webOS provides the ability to share the entirety of a single contact with others, what happens if you only want to share a phone number, email address or mailing address. For certain accounts (such as your Palm Profile or Google accounts), you can go into a Contract’s entry, click "Edit", highlight the data you need and copy it, but this is clearly not the most efficient way you can do this, right? In fact, for "read only" accounts like Facebook, you are not even able to select or highlight some data in a contact record. Instead, keep reading after the break to learn how you can more quickly get access to share this information
