Wow, this took a while. Unlocked Palm Pre 2 devices got their webOS 2.1 update in early March. And it’s taken a ridiculously long time for it to come to Verizon’s CDMA Pre 2. But alas, maybe we should just be grateful that it came at all, considering the Palm/HP transition?

We’re done ranting; it’s time to rave. The webOS 2.1 update, which is being pushed out in a piecemeal fashion, brings a lot of fantastic features. One fun addition is Exhibition, which allows you to set specific display functions when your device is being charged. You can choose from a clock display, a slideshow of your photos, or your daily agenda.

Next is voice dialing, which is prompted by holding down the volume key, or by long-pressing the phone dialing pad. Voice dialing doesn’t seem like much, but if you got accustomed to it on your previous device, it can be sorely missed.

WebOS 2.1 also adds text messaging backup, and support for Bluetooth keyboards. We think the physical keypad is pretty terrific on its own, but it’s nice to have the option. There are also a number of bug fixes pertaining to email threads, photo thumbnails, messaging, task searches, and security. Now, where is Sprint’s Pre 2 update?

It wasn’t too long ago that HP slashed the price of it to free for a brief period of time, but since then, it has been brought back to its usual $149.99 on-contract price point.

Well, HP is here once again to the rescue if you want to experience the most up-to-date webOS smartphone in the US market. In fact, they’re selling the same handset for free with your signature on a 2-year agreement. Naturally, the new price point easily blows past what Verizon is asking for from its customer – which is still a cold hard $150.

Still, we have yet to see any movement in terms of no-contract pricing. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t worry because it’ll more than likely happen once the newest members of the webOS family start to appear in the future.

Previously, we’ve seen them already bring it down to as low as $30 with a contract, but it didn’t take them long to bring it to a new level that everyone would be content about it. Precisely, they’re now selling the Palm Pre 2 for the 2-year contract price of free – whereas Verizon hasn’t moved from its $149.99 on-contract pricing. So if you’ve been patient in holding off a purchase for the most up-to-date webOS smartphone on the market right now, then it’s about time you made a move and go buy this one.

Obviously, HP can’t go any less from what they’re offering right now – that’s unless they decide to give customers money back to purchase it. In any event, the ball is now in Verizon’s court because we’re sure consumers are waiting for them to follow accordingly.

Sure it might be beneficial to go with your carrier for most occasions when purchasing a new phone, but HP seems like they really want you to buy it from them. That’s because the handset is now priced at $29.99 with a 2-year agreement on their HP Wireless Central web site. You heard that right, this device can be bought for super cheap through HP directly, but if you prefer the no-contract route, your best option is still to side with Verizon since they’re selling it for $409.99 versus the $429.999 that HP is asking.

Naturally, some people would believe that its price point right now is fitting since we’re expected to see its successor arrive some time in the very near future. But if you just can’t wait for that to come around, then probably this solution might fit the bill in the meantime.

We said it was bound to happen, but we’re seeing Verizon’s Palm Pixi Plus being sold for the new record off-contract pricing of only $45. Sure there are some basic smartphones out there priced for free, but of course, you’ll need to sign some sort of 2-year contract to get it. However, this deal is valid without the need to be tied down with any kind of contract.

Previously, we’ve seen the handset selling through various third party retailers online around the price of $50, but it’s nice to see it dropping down even lower. Not only do you save some money on buying a no-contract smartphone, but you even have the opportunity of using it as a mobile hotspot for free. In the end, of course, its unworldly off-contract price of $40 ($5 shipping) is something that may seem so foreign to most people, especially when they normally start off at around $300, but this is in fact for real – so don’t hesitate on pulling the trigger on this one.

Specifically, there is only 10 hours left before this deal expires – so be sure to come down with a decision. Yeah, it’s nice seeing it priced extremely low right now, but as always, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it even lower in the near future.

Thanks Nicholas!

Seriously, it’s very tough to not take notice, but we’re seeing yet another spectacular new low price point for Verizon’s Palm Pixi Plus.

Sure we know that some new webOS devices are on the horizon, especially now that the Palm Pre 2 finally on sale, but for those who don’t want to spend serious dough on a webOS smartphone, then you’ve got to check out this fantastic deal going on with the Palm Pixi Plus for Verizon.

Previously, we’ve seen third party sellers offering the smartphone at the no-contract price of $55 and even $50. Today though, we’re seeing a new record being made now that it’s going for the no-contract price of only $45! You heard that right, you’ve got a decent smartphone in the Palm Pixi Plus that has a price attached to it that some might considered to be subsidized.

With approximately around 10 hours left until this deal is over, you’d better think quickly now before it’s gone. But then again, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it come back, with a lower price point obviously, next week or some time after that.

We’ve waited a long time, especially after seeing the upcoming webOS hardware at HP’s event, but the Palm Pre 2 has finally landed in the US courtesy of Verizon Wireless.

Starting today, you can stroll into your local Verizon Wireless location and pick up the latest webOS powered smartphone out there. Granted that its arrival might be considered late for some, especially when its successor was recently unveiled, it still nonetheless presents us with the latest webOS experience. Not to mention that we’ll all have to wait until the summer before getting the opportunity of getting comfy with the HP Pre 3.

Going for the 2-year contract price of $149.99 after rebates, the Palm Pre 2 features a 3.1” display, slide-out portrait keyboard, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with flash, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, and is powered by webOS 2.0.

Starting on February 17th, you can head on over to any of your local Verizon Wireless locations and pick up a Pre 2 for the on-contract price of $149.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. Interestingly enough, Verizon’s pricing is still a $50 increase over the $99.99 that HP is asking for through their website. So if you really care about the savings, it’s best to pick one up through HP, other than that, you can stroll into any of Big Red’s stores in a couple of days to pick up a brand spanking new Pre 2.

As much as we’re all yearning for those next generation webOS smartphones, this is the next best thing over the last generation webOS devices that are still lingering around.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen third party resellers knocking off some serious cash off of Verizon’s Palm Pixi Plus, but it’s so much better when they’re selling a no-contract required device for dirt cheap. This time around, Daily Steals is offering the miniscule Verizon Palm Pixi Plus for $54.99 – with free shipping! That’s pretty impressive considering that you won’t have to sign any lengthy contracts and easily beats the usual $200 and up cost related to fully priced smartphones.

Now don’t wait too long because this offer is good for only a limited time. As it stands, there is approximately another 13 hours left before this promotion expires, but we’re guessing this isn’t going to be the last time we’re going to hear about the Palm Pixi Plus for Verizon.

Thank Nicholas!

The latest webOS powered device is now positioned to ship out starting on February 17th for $99.99 with a 2-year agreement. Of course, Verizon will be the carrier of choice for this one, but interestingly enough, there is still no pre-order page up on Big Red’s web site regarding the handset. Meanwhile, you’ll have to fetch your pre-order directly from HP, but as we all know, coming to the conclusion of siding with the HP Pre 2 is going to be rather difficult since the Pre 3 has been announced.

Regardless of that, if you don’t want to sign your life away for the next two years, you can always resort to forking over $439.99 for the full price of the model.
