New in the App Catalog for 22 October 2010

App CatalogSometimes fortune has it that the apps that land in the review queue for Palm’s team are not all new. In fact, we like updated apps, because that means somebody’s working to improve their app. Or they’re merely updating the app’s metadata, forcing a bump up to the top of the list. Well, it turns out that yesterday was one of those days, with a few dozen updates pushed out by the App Catalog team, and just one new app. It was Friday, so we’ll give them a pass, so long as weekend partying commenced.

The App Catalog is awash in a flood of terrific Twitter apps, from the excellent Tweed (this blogger’s current favorite) to the innovative and visually stunning TweetMe for webOS.  Not only does a Twitter app have to look good these days to compete in the ‘Catalog, it has to perform blazingly fast with a cutting edge feature set, and Yak ($2.99 in the App Catalog) has what it takes to be a serious contender.  How does it stack up against some of the newer and established names? New in the App Catalog for 30 November 2009

App CatalogYou know what we like? New apps. We’re easy to please like that. And yet again, Palm has delivered, bringing our total to just one shy of five hundred. Yesterday’s app drop was a mixed bag with no discernable theme. We’ve got Twitter and Facebook, photography and graphic design, timers and trivia. Sound like a good deal? Yeah, we thought so, and it’s all available after the break.
