With the release of webOS’ update to 1.0.3 a couple of weeks ago, MotionApps’ Palm OS emulator software, Classic, on the Palm Pre was left broken. The fix was relatively simple; just deleting a folder from the Pre when connected as a USB Mass Storage device but it was still an inconvenience nonetheless.
MotionApps seems to be aware of this and they would like to extend their mea culpa in the form of an extension on the trial period users receive with an unlicensed copy of Classic. They’ve announced on their blog that they have now extended the period for another 7 days (the original period being 7 days).
“This means that all users who ever had Classic on their phones, or the users that are still evaluating Classic, can try the latest version free of charge for 7 more days starting from today. This will provide all of you with an opportunity to have a smooth trial of the new 1.1 Classic version, and the opportunity to meet new Classic that comes with significant improvements.”
These improvements are numerous indeed, including audio support, multi-touch pinch and zoom, speed variations, phone integration in Palm OS apps, and many more tweaks under the hood.
