Can You Use Palm Pre Abroad

March 9th 2010 | Posted by Kevin

Traveling to Europe and Asia with your new Palm Pre smartphone? Can you use Palm Pre Abroad? Sorry, although Palm sells the Pre oversea, current Palm Pre owner from Sprint and Verizon Wireless won’t be able to the phone broad due to network incompatibility. Both Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus run on CDMA networks in the United States while rest of the world (at least most) runs on the popular GSM network. If you still need wireless data connection, the Pre has Wi-Fi. And it’s not difficult to find free Wi-Fi hotpots throughout Europe and Asia. Even if you have to pay for them chances are they are cheaper than an international plan that you will find on some of so-called international smartphones from Verizon and Sprint. Good luck.
